WoW Forever Hunter Nerfs: Aspect of the Hawk and Trueshot Aura Cut
Hunters appear to have been nerfed on the live WoW: Forever servers during name reservations. Wowhead reports hotfixes to Aspect of the Hawk and Trueshot Aura, plus a small cut to a low-level Alchemy potion. These are not confirmed by Blizzard: Wowhead says they have not appeared in the development notes and may change.
Reported changes
| Ability | Rank | New value | Old value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aspect of the Hawk | 1 | 15 | 22 |
| Aspect of the Hawk | 2 | 22 | 35 |
| Aspect of the Hawk | 3 | 30 | 50 |
| Aspect of the Hawk | 4 | 38 | 78 |
| Aspect of the Hawk | 5 | 47 | 90 |
| Trueshot Aura | 1 | 15 | 30 |
| Trueshot Aura | 2 | 22 | 40 |
| Trueshot Aura | 3 | 30 | 50 |
| Trueshot Aura | 4 | 40 | 75 |
Trueshot Aura is the Hunter raid buff, so it affects the whole group, not just Hunters.
Elixir of Wisdom
The vendor-recipe Alchemy potion Elixir of Wisdom (Alchemy level 90) now gives +3 Intellect (was 6) for 30 minutes (was 1 hour), according to the same report.
What players think
This is player opinion from the 140-post Hunter nerfs thread. Many replies say Hunters were over-tuned, with one calling Survival a top melee damage dealer. Others would rather see other classes buffed than Hunters cut, and some question why the Elixir of Wisdom needed touching at all.
For how Hunters worked before this change, including the earlier “are Hunters overpowered?” debate, see our Hunter guide. Forever launches on 4 November 2026 and is still in beta until then, so numbers may change again. Last checked 29 October 2026.
