WoW Forever Talent Trees & Talent Calculators Explained
World of Warcraft: Forever keeps Classic’s three talent trees per class, but the trees themselves are heavily rebuilt. Talents have been moved, merged, made baseline or removed, and a new milestone tier sits in the middle.
How talents work
| WoW Forever | |
|---|---|
| First talent point | Level 10 |
| Points | 1 per level, so 21 at level 30 (the beta cap) and 51 at level 60 |
| Milestone (“gold medal”) talents | 11, 16 (new), 21 and 31 points into a tree |
| Dual Specialization | Level 40 |
| Changing talents | At your class trainer in a major city |
The 16-point milestone is new to Forever. Most classes get a signature talent there, for example Spearing Strike (Arms Warrior), Vanguard (Protection Warrior), Soul Warding and Binding Heal (Priest), and Counterattack (Survival Hunter).
Legacy can give you talents earlier
Forever’s account-wide Legacy system has a perk called Talented with 5 ranks. It lets your characters start earning talent points before level 10, down to level 5 at max rank. You’re still capped at 51 points. Legacy explained in our leveling guide →
What’s changed in the trees
Highlights from Blizzard’s class deep dives:
- Old essentials made baseline. Aimed Shot (Hunter), Omen of Clarity (Druid) and Divine Spirit (Priest) are now trained abilities, which frees up points.
- Weapon specializations merged. Arms Warriors get one Weaponmaster talent instead of four separate ones.
- New capstones from later expansions: Penance, Prayer of Mending, Wild Growth, Berserk, Lone Wolf and more.
- Removed: Lightwell, Wyvern Sting, Killer Instinct and Tiger’s Fury (now gone completely).

Talent calculators
There isn’t an official Blizzard calculator. These community calculators cover Forever’s trees:
- Wowhead Forever talent calculator covers all nine classes and is the most widely used.
- Zockify
- Warcraft Tavern and Icy Veins have both announced Forever calculators.
Talents are still changing every beta patch, so check which build a calculator is based on before you trust it. Talent points can also be reset at your trainer, so you can’t really get it wrong.
