WoW Forever Racials: Blizzard Plans to Tone Down Strong Horde Racials

Racial changes are coming to the WoW Forever beta. On the latest WoW: Forever Podcast, Aggrend said changes to racial abilities are likely in next week’s beta update, and that some of the stronger Horde racials, such as the Orc’s Blood Fury, are in the frame.

Blood Fury active on our own Ssorn’s Orc in the beta, 9 October 2026.

What has been said

According to Wowhead’s report of the podcast:

• Racials have been a hot topic in the beta. Comparing some races’ abilities, such as a Dwarf to an Orc, is described as almost incomparable.
• The community’s common complaint is how strong Orc racials are, and that Dwarves are the only Alliance race that can be Shaman, which affects faction balance.
• Aggrend named the Orc and Troll active racials, Blood Fury and Berserking, as perhaps “a little too strong”, and asked whether weapon skill racials should be kept or replaced with something else.

No numbers have been announced. Treat everything here as likely, not confirmed, until the beta patch notes land. For what each racial currently does, see our WoW Forever racials guide.

Our take: buff the Alliance instead?

This section is player opinion from Ssorn, not Blizzard’s position.

Nerfing the strongest Horde racials risks a race to the bottom. If Alliance racials are the ones lagging behind, why not raise them to meet the Horde instead? Players generally enjoy gaining power more than losing it, and a Horde nerf only helps balance if the Alliance gap really can’t be closed from the other side. The best outcome may be a mix of both, with only the most extreme racials trimmed.

We will update this article once the beta update arrives.
