WoW Forever Mounts Guide: Riding Costs, New Mounts & Collections
Mounts in World of Warcraft: Forever work differently from original Classic. The big cost is now riding training, you get your first mount when you learn it, and your mount collection is account-wide.
Beta information, last checked 6 October 2026.
How riding works
- Burning Crusade-style pricing. Most of the gold goes into riding training, and you get a mount when you learn to ride. This is confirmed by Blizzard.
- Beta costs: players report 100 gold for 60% speed and 1,000 gold for 100% speed.
- Riding levels haven’t been officially announced. Beta data suggests the familiar 40 and 60, but don’t plan around it until Blizzard confirms.
- No flying. Forever is ground mounts only.
- Extra mounts from vendors appear to be cheap in the beta data, at around 20 gold and 200 gold.
Account-wide collections
Mounts, companions and transmog are account-wide in Forever, and shared across rulesets. The exception is Hardcore, which is kept separate. Collect a mount once and all your alts can ride it.
New mounts
Pre-purchase mounts
- Cerulean Prideclaw: a ground mount included with the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Epic Pack, Warcraft Forever Collection and Collector’s Edition. You still need to buy riding training in game to use it. Editions →
- Veteran Adventurer’s Loyal Companion: a bear mount from the Epic Pack, the Collection and the Collector’s Edition.
Skyborne Galestriders
The Skyborne racial mounts are Galestriders, in four colours (Empyrean, Regal, Stormy, Umber), each with a Swift version. Beta testers report:
- They’re sold at Fairweather Stables on Zephras Isle.
- Higher reputation with your Skyborne faction gives discounts on mounts and training.
- They may need their own riding skill. This isn’t confirmed yet.
Datamined mounts
Names found in beta files, which may be rewards, drops or unused:
- Warden Sabers
- Devilsaurs
- Druid Moose
- Spectral Bear (possibly a Legacy reward)
- Striped Dawnsaber
- Swift Hyjal Stag
- New Kodo and Skeletal Horse colours
Class mounts
Players have asked whether Paladin and Warlock class mounts keep their cheap Classic pricing, but there’s been no Blizzard answer yet. Beta data includes a Forsaken Charger for the new Undead Paladins.
Tips
- Save for 100 gold well before you reach the riding level. Gathering professions are the easiest way.
- Legacy’s Frequent Flier perk makes flight paths 50% cheaper and 20% faster.
- Tauren get up to 30% bonus run speed from Plainsrunning while traveling, and Horde Skyborne get +10% mounted speed from Skysight.
