WoW Forever Hall of Thanes: Dungeon Guide (Coming Soon)
Full guide coming soon. Hall of Thanes is the first new dungeon Alliance players can enter in World of Warcraft: Forever. It sits directly beneath the Throne Room of Ironforge and, like Ragefire Chasm, is an entry-level dungeon designed to teach group play to new and returning players. This page collects what we know so far and will grow as we test it.
Last checked: 15 October 2026 (beta).
Quick facts
| Location | Beneath the Throne Room of Ironforge |
| Level range | 13–18 (beta, may change before launch) |
| Faction | Built as the Alliance counterpart to Ragefire Chasm |
| Status | Playable in the beta since week one |
What it is
Blizzard’s Launch Dungeons video shows Dark Iron Dwarves tunnelling in to loot the Ironforge Kings, with restless spirits haunting the halls. It is one of nine new dungeons in Forever. For more on the video, see our Launch Dungeons breakdown.
Getting in
The entrance is under Ironforge’s Throne Room, so Alliance players can walk straight in. Horde players have reported that the route is much harder than the Horde equivalent, Ruins of Lordaeron, and a player thread on the Blizzard forums compares the two. That is player opinion, not an official statement.
On the Blizzard dungeon podcast, the developers reportedly said they are fine with not every dungeon being open to every faction (as relayed by a forum poster, not checked by us against the podcast). Don’t expect a secret Horde entrance.
Where it fits in levelling
At levels 13 to 18 it covers the same stretch as Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns and Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20). Our dungeons guide has a suggested route, and the levelling guide shows where dungeons fit in each bracket. Dungeon XP has been a hot topic on the forums, and players report that trash mobs give little XP, so groups often skip trash. See our dungeon XP buff news for the latest.
Quests
Player reports say the dungeon has quests, including one that needs items looted from the final boss area. One forum poster said the group left before they looted the quest items and they could not collect them, so wait for everyone to loot objectives before leaving. That is a single player’s experience from the beta.
Coming soon
We are still gathering the details, and this guide will be expanded with:
- Boss names, mechanics and strategies
- Quest chain and walkthrough
- Loot tables
- Map and route
- Tips for tanks, healers and damage dealers
Beta details can change, so check back after the next patch.
