WoW Forever Excavation Site: Wetlands Dungeon Guide (Coming Soon)
Excavation Site: Wetlands is one of the nine new dungeons in World of Warcraft: Forever. Players can take it on from around level 30, and it leans heavily on its environment: watch the tall grass, because hidden enemies can strike at a moment’s notice.
This guide is a work in progress. More information is on its way, and we will add bosses, loot and quests as we test the dungeon on the beta.

The level range moved from 24–29 to 26–31 in the 1 October beta patch, so it may shift again before launch on 4 November 2026. See our dungeons overview for all nine dungeons.
Tips from the beta
- Walk, don’t pull blindly. Raptors nest in the tall grass and some of them are stealthed. Blizzard’s Launch Dungeons video flags this directly; see our video summary.
- Bring a way to deal with bleeds. One player on the Blizzard forums suggests First Aid tourniquets would help with the bleeds in this dungeon, though they can’t currently be used in combat. That is player opinion, not a confirmed strategy.
- Pick up the quests first. One beta player reported that they levelled to around 26 in the Wetlands specifically to collect the Excavation Site quests (player report). We have not yet catalogued them ourselves.
Where it fits in your levelling
Most players reach the dungeon after finishing the 20–30 zones. Our levelling guide places it alongside Redridge, Duskwood, Ashenvale, Stonetalon, Hillsbrad and the Wetlands. After this, the next dungeon on the route is City of Dalaran (28–33).
