WoW Forever Addons: Which Addons Work?
The big thing to know about addons in World of Warcraft: Forever: it runs on the modern WoW client, not the Classic Era client. That brings modern addon rules, including the restrictions Blizzard introduced in Midnight.
How Forever’s addon API works
- Forever shares the modern (Mainline) UI architecture and “the vast majority of APIs available in 12.1.5”, according to Blizzard.
- Midnight’s addon restrictions apply. Some combat information is “secret” to addons, so classic combat-automation addons won’t work the way they used to.
- Future UI changes will land in both modern WoW and Forever at the same time.
- Beta interface version: 16001 (patch 1.60.1). Addon authors need this in their
.tocfiles. - Developers say Forever has a built-in damage meter, cooldown tracker and swing timer, so you “shouldn’t have to have addons”.

Addon support changes weekly during beta. Always download from CurseForge, Wago or the addon’s official GitHub, and check that a file is tagged for Forever.

- Questie, for leveling. It knows Classic quests, and Forever’s new quests are being added.
- DBM or BigWigs, for dungeon and raid timers. Pick one.
- Auctionator, for the Auction House.
- Leatrix Plus, for quality-of-life tweaks.
Try the built-in damage meter and cooldown tracker before installing Details! or anything heavier.
