If you are experiencing a black screen every so often on Diablo III then this fix has been known to help.
Go to options and then graphics and set your Maximum FPS to 50 or 40.
I believe this issue is caused by the graphics card failing, if you alt tab quickly you might be able to catch the message saying the graphics card has recovered from an error.
