There has been plenty of rumours floating around the internet today, as all usual. One of the more interesting rumours is regarding Tim Cooks visit to valve headquarters to discuss… well no one is quite sure.
Apple have a large dominant force with their iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in the mobile gaming market, but they have never managed to break into the PC Gaming world, until now… maybe.
There is two reasons why Valve could be looking to create a console, the first is a job listing which mentioned the following:
“For years, Valve has been all about writing software that provides great gameplay experiences. Now we’re developing hardware to enhance those experiences,”
The job listing also mentioned that the successful candidate would have to:
“conceive, design, evaluate, and produce new types of input, output, and platform hardware”
Very interesting indeed for fans of the Steam Platform. This in conjunction with Tim Cook visiting their head quarters could hint towards a future of gamign consoles for Valve and Apple. Combining the slick great performance of the Apple hardware and the smooth gaming experience (usually) you recieve on the Steam Platform and Valve games, this could be a great relationship for the gaming community. As I mentioned previously though, this is all completely rumour.
If you want to check out the job listing then have a look at this link: http://www.valvesoftware.com/jobs/job_postings.html
Have fun gaming guys and you never know in the future you could be gaming on the SteamBox or iBox, who knows…
