DotA 2 First Play – HD Screencast

After being rather lazy and not installing DotA 2, I have finally got around to loading it up and having a game. It was really fun and I will probably bring you more videos when I am playing it as I do enjoy it quite a lot.

The game itself is a rather standard MOBA game. Here is the video of me playing around it and making myself look awful (I won 2 before this, I promise!).

I was playing the Bounty Hunter which has some really interesting abilities. When I first started playing him I didn’t really get his mechanics but towards the end (after actually reading them properly) I found out he has a stealth ability which also gives you double damage on his next attack out of stealth. He also has a passive ability which increase your critical strike. Combine the two abilities and you have a pretty nasty opener against the more squishy opponents.

I also played the Brewmaster in a previous game, he is seems quite tough, has some good abilities and his ultimate is awesome fun. The Brewmasters ultimate shifts you into 3 elemental champions which unique abilities, you have to be quick and use them to their maximum whilst they are still alive.

All in all I thought DotA was a good game, it was extremely entertaining and fast paced. The targetting on the minions seemed a little more difficult than other games I have played, plus the health bars seemed quite small. The great thing about the game was the way you can switch back to the dashboard if you are currently in a game, probably not a good idea for some people, but if your in a casual game it is great.

I really like the interesting champions you can play aswell, the view for selecting a champion seemed a little bit strange, I think I am not used to the filtering of the champions yet (you can filter by searching top right).

Have a go guys, see if you like it and leave your comments below.
